Safmarine opens five Aussie offices

SAFMARINE HAS wound up its agency agreement with The McArthur Shipping and Agency Company (MSAC) in Australia and established its own sales and customer service offices in Sydney (head office), Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane. Des Knox, previously of MSAC, has been appointed manager Safmarine Australia. In line with worldwide trend for own representation The move is in line with a trend already followed by Safmarine worldwide, for representation under its own name. The lineÕs first shipping service to and from Australia was inaugurated in January 1970. Since that date it has operated in the region under different brand names - Safocean, SafBank and SCL. Today it markets its liner shipping services under a single global brand - Safmarine.
