THIS MONTH marks the milestone second anniversary of Safmarine’s dedicated sales and customer service office in Abidjan. The line’s shipping services were first offered to the Ivorian market in the eighties, under the CMB brand. But a desire for representation under the Safmarine name led to the establishment, in September 2001, of an owned office. “Direct representation has enhanced the existing brand strength of Safmarine in one of its ‘home’ markets,” says Safmarine country manager, Captain Patrick Thiry.
