Safari introduces feeder option

ALAN PEAT THE FIVE line Safari consortium has dropped its direct port calls at Keelung and Busan on the eastern leg of its Far East-SA-South America service. But, FTW was told, it is calling at Kaohsiung directly, and Keelung cargoes are now being trucked between the two port cities. Similarly, the Busan cargo is being feedered by ship from Tanjung Pelepas. With the transhipment, the cargo transit time from Durban to Keelung is now 23 days, and 20 days to Busan. The member lines of the consortium are: Safmarine, Maersk Sealand Mitsui OSK Line, K-Line and MISC.
