On 12 June 026, the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) extended an invitation to South African exporters and industrialists to showcase their products and services at the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Industrial Week (SIW) in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), from 27 to 31 July 2026.
The SIW event will be held as a high-level, high-impact precursor event to the 46th SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government. The event provides SADC member states, private sector role players and various relevant stakeholders with an opportunity to discuss and promote industrialisation strategies and opportunities and to exhibit their businesses or trade offerings.
The dtic will focus on showcasing the following sectors:
- Mineral beneficiation
- Agro-processing
- Pharmaceuticals
- Fast Moving Consumer Goods
- Infrastructure and logistics (to support trade and investment)
- Light manufacturing and the automotive sector - financial sector.
The dtic will offer the following support to qualifying entities as per the Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) scheme guidelines:
- Exhibition space and booth rental costs
- Freight forwarding of display material.
- Air travel assistance up to R5,000.00 (SMME, BOE and Emerging Companies located outside KZN). NB: Companies are to make their own reservation and claim back after the event.
- Daily subsistence allowance of R2,000.00 per day (SMME, BOE and Emerging Companies located outside KZN). NB: Companies are to make their own reservation and claim back after the event.
The deadline for submission of the complete National Pavilion application form, accompanied by all supporting documentation, is 25 June 2026 at 16:00. Late applications will not be considered.
