IN A major communications initiative, SACD is currently engaged with major clients, Huletts Aluminium for one, in a process of ‘systems integration’. “Traditionally, we have sent electronic tracking and invoicing information, but integration entails tying companies’ logistics processes to ours, no two necessarily alike, so that the overall system flows more smoothly,” explains e-commerce project manager Kevin Charleston. “We have been systems-driven for a long time but are becoming more integrated with our customer base which is changing specifically from shipping lines to importer/exporter business,” says marketing director Geoff Popple.
