There are a few new faces on the SA Association of Freight Forwarders board, elected recently. Basil Pietersen continues as chairman with new appointee Keith Horn as deputy and director responsible for the supply chain management portfolio where he will be assisted by alternate director Anthonie Verploegh. There are no changes to the regional representation which includes Keith Blond (KZN), Mike Walwyn (Western Cape) who also holds the maritime affairs portfolio, Ian Border (Border), Jan Ludolph (Gauteng) and Lance Petersen (Eastern Cape). John White has taken on the customs affairs portfolio and Paul Cheetham the finance portfolio, whileTony d’Almeida continues in skills development, BBBEE and roadfreight. Alternate director Richard Mallabone will continue to handle cargo security with assistance from Dave Gurney. Margrit Wolff joins the board as an alternate director responsible for the legal and general portfolio along with Tulani Hlabangana (HR and transformation) and Lin Botha who will help with the customs portfolio. Dave Watts continues as a consultant on maritime affairs.
