The SA Association of Freight Forwarders this month launched the first in a series of workshops on BBBEE covering topics ranging from the development of Charters and the current BEE environment to the labour law supporting and impacting BBBEE. According to attendees, it not only improved their knowledge of legislation and the scorecard, but also them gave a platform to discuss and ask questions on technical aspects of implementation.
The next workshop is scheduled for April 13 and will focus on the forwarding and clearing and road freight sub-sector scorecards.
Saaff’s HR–Transformation Portfolio has also set itself a goal of creating awareness of the opportunities for employment within the freight forwarding subsector.
