South Africa Airways (SAA) would launch direct flights to China’s “manufacturing hub”, Guangzhou, on September 18, the airliner announced on Sunday.

“Cargo operations will complement the viability of this route considering that high value cargo is sourced from Guangzhou,” said an SAA spokesman.

“SAA will offer the only direct service between Johannesburg and the southern Chinese district.”
