SAA CARGO has assigned one of its new airbuses to the Eastern route, significantly stepping up capacity on the run. In addition to substantially increased cargo capacity, the airbus offers improved uplift efficiencies, says SAA Cargo route manager, Asia Pacific and Americas, Anne Sanders, “As a result cargo capacity has increased from a modest two tonnes to a massive 14 to 17 tonnes. This enables us to fill the gap created in the market by the downsizing of other Asian services specifically on the Johannesburg/Asian route,” she said.
