South Africa’s 2015/2016 cotton production forecast has been cut by 5%.
South Africa will probably produce 52 820 bales of cotton in the 2015-16 season, below regulatory body Cotton SA’s February projection of 56 266, according to Bloomberg news agency.
The expectation for lower cotton output follows the trend in global production, which is on track to decline 15% this season due to falling yields, the International Cotton Advisory Committee said in a report.
