RAY SMUTS AN HISTORIC event played out in the port of Cape Town last week when a wholly-South African crew was handed over to an international shipping company. The new crew of the deep-sea reefer ship, Snow Land, was presented to the Master by Lester Petini, chairman of Marine Crew Services. Cape Town-based Marine Crew Services was established to develop and place South African seafarers with international shipping and ship management companies.
