Rwanda’s exports fell by 29% last year due to plummeting global commodity prices, scuppering its plans to reduce its trade deficit.
Exports reached US$91.7 million during 2014, but fell to US$65.2 million this year, reported daily newspaper, The East African, citing figures issued by the National Agricultural Export Board (NAEB).
Tea and horticulture exports bucked the trend, showing growth of around 40%.
