IN A number of senior management moves Portnet has announced that Ronnie Kingwill, general manager Western Ports, has assumed responsibility for the Port of Durban in addition to Saldanha, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. This follows the early retirement of Jan Jansen, previously general manager, Eastern Ports.
Peter Masemola reverts to port operations manager at the Port of Durban, having assisted Themba Gwala in the container terminal for the past few months. Gwala is now available to take up his position as Richards Bay port operations manager.
If a vessel arrives outside the allocated window it will be accommodated, provided this does not impact negatively on other vessels arriving within their allocated windows, but the formula will not apply.
Any delays from force majeure and industrial action are also excluded as with delays emanating from other ports. Full details are available from Portnet marketing in Durban.
