THE LACK of law enforcement on South Africa's roads is the most serious problem now facing transport operators and should receive a high level of priority at government level, says Abe Uys, executive director of Crossroads Distributors, who was elected chairman of the Road Freight Association (RFA) of South Africa this week. "The RFA motto ÔWithout Trucks, South Africa Stops' and authorities must realise it," he says. "The challenge of meeting the country's transport needs in a professional way is substantial. This will augment transport facilities and infrastrucrture in a manner contingent with the wider needs of enhancing lives of all citizens through maintaining a vital economy".
