The Road Freight Association (RFA) is gearing up for its annual conference where industry professionals will interact on issues impacting the sector and engage with the latest technologies.

The RFA’s annual conference and exhibition takes place in Hermanus in the Western Cape at the Arabella Hotel and Spa from 24-26 May, bringing together key stakeholders, thought leaders and professionals from the road freight industry to network, collaborate, learn and build on innovative ideas.

CEO Gavin Kelly said conference goers can look forward to a dynamic agenda around the conference theme “Changing the Rhythm of Trucking” featuring engaging panel discussions and insightful presentations.

"The conference is a highlight on our calendar.

“It offers a pivotal platform for industry to come together to share and create dialogue that propels our sector forward,” Kelly said.

Television personality Jeremy Maggs will MC the event and the keynote address at the conference is expected to be delivered by Minister of Transport Sindisiwe Chikunga.

Other key speakers include political analyst Ongama Mtimka, logistics expert Professor Jan Havenga, and Athena executive director, Devon Palanee.

Kelly and RFA chairman, Penwell Lunga, will also share insights into the association’s vision for the year.

Igniting a lighter spark to the event, conference goers can look forward to listening to self-proclaimed political activist Evita Bezuidenhout as she shares her unique perspectives on South Africa’s political and social realities.

In addition to the conference programme, delegates can explore an exhibition and truck display that provides interactive engagement with cutting-edge technologies, industry advancements and innovative solutions.

"We look forward to welcoming industry at the conference as we celebrate the backbone of our nation's economy – the road freight sector,” Kelly said.

“Without Trucks, South Africa stops. Let us convene, robustly discuss issues affecting the industry, share insights, and propel our industry forward together.”

Registration for the conference is open on the RFA website at https://rfa.co.za/convention/register/.
