KEVIN MAYHEW
LEADING INTERNATIONAL decision makers gather at an international roads conference to be jointly hosted by the Geneva-based International Road Federation (IRF) and the South African Road Federation (SARF) in Durban later this year. The IRF/SARF Regional Conference for Africa will focus on development of an efficient inter-continental road network and will be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) from September 11-13. Conference chairman and head of the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport, Chris Hlabisa, says much of Africa’s socio-economic development hinges on redressing under-funding of the continent’s road network. The conference line-up includes international and southern African speakers.
