THE NATIONAL Ports Authority of South Africa will host the 28th council meeting and conference of the Port Management AsÐ sociation of Eastern and Southern Africa (PMAESA) in Cape Town from November 4-6 this year. A technical tour of the port will be undertaken on November 7. The theme of this year's conference is: "African ports in transition: What are the challenges and solutions?" PMAESA is a regional association established by the United Nations Economic Division for Africa Affairs in 1973. Headquartered in Mombasa, Kenya, its main objective is to improve port efficiency productivity, mainly through regional co-operation. The conference fee is US$ 270 / ZAR 2 700-00 per delegate.
