Trade and regional integration will top the agenda at an upcoming conference to be hosted by the East African Community (EAC).
The high-level EAC conference will be held in Nairobi from 25-27 September and will focus on “paradigm shifts in manufacturing value chains”.
It is hoped that the conference will shed light on updates about progress that has thus far been made with the implementation phase of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTFA).
The free-trade zone, which will become the world’s largest such bloc made up of 54 countries with a combined GDP of 1.2 trillion USD, will officially come into effect next year June/July.
