THE PORT of Flushing in The Netherlands has now been added to reefer shipping specialist LauritzenCool's named-day weekly liner service to Europe which calls at Sheerness and Antwerp.
The call at the Kloosterboer fruit terminal in Flushing started with this year's first citrus loading out of Durban on May 3. The Pacific Reefer was due to have arrived at the Dutch port on May 23.
The new port will offer shorter transit times into the Continental market and, said LauritzenCool management, will allow for more efficient ship scheduling.
Landside transport to-and-from key areas in the European hinterland has been arranged between the line and the Kloosterboer management - and full distribution services are available.
The agents will be Muller & Co in Rotterdam and Flushing.
