Rebate for additional components for cooking and cooling appliances

On 19 June 2026, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) announced an amendment to Part 2 of Schedule No.4 to the Customs and Excise 1964 (“General Rebates of Customs Duties, Fuel Levy and Environmental Levy: Temporary Rebates of Customs Duties”) through the insertion of Rebate Item 460.15/7604.29/01.06, to create a rebate provision for the importation of profiles of aluminium-copper-magnesium-zinc alloys classifiable in tariff subheading 7604.29.

The reasoning is contained in the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) Report No.747.
