RATS offers real time tracking info

KEVIN MAYHEW NEW FEATURES have been added to the RailRoad Africa Tracking System (RATS) to enable its clients to accurately monitor tracking information from both Spoornet and South African Port Operations in real time. According to the chief executive officer of inland haulage specialist RailRoad Africa, Deon Weelson, the new facility allows clients who are linked to RATS to find out exactly where containers and trains are from the constant updates from Spoornet and Sapo. “At present the facility is purely for viewing by clients but it will eventually be interactive and they will be able to request information about tracking the movements of their containers and consignments,” he said.
