TRANSNET PORT Terminals has introduced a R6.7 million crane training simulator at the Port of Durban. Using cutting-edge technology in the form of state-of-the-art computers and giant screens inside a 40-ft shipping container, a make believe situation is created to help crane operators at Pier 1 Container Terminal in Durban practise challenging manoeuvres involving heavy and expensive cranes.
