The Department of Trade and Industry (dti) launched a R116 million water treatment plant today (Wednesday) in Steyleville, outside Port Elizabeth.

“The plant was supported by the dti, through its Critical Infrastructure Programme (CIP), the Department of Water Sanitation and the Baviaans Local Municipality,” the dti said on its official Twitter account.

The plant was launched in order to help with water shortages in the area.
