GROWING PROJECT cargo business into Africa has created growing demand for packaging specialists who can guarantee cost-effective solutions to the continent’s complex challenges. It’s always crucial to get the packaging right, and even more so in the African market where handling equipment is sometimes less than adequate, says Tusker Packaging’s Reinhardt van der Westhuizen. “Modern projects have complex demands, and getting the packaging right directly benefits the control of the total operation, eliminating any potential problems. “We don’t approach the packing, transportation and storage on a piecemeral basis, charging for each item as it arises. “A coherent strategy and firm price is put in place right from the start,” says Van der Westhuizen. The company’s wide-ranging experience covers a variety of products and destinations. Major contracts into Africa include cellular network projects, equipment for hotels and mining equipment. “Each project is unique, demanding a tailored approach to transport, packing and storage, and that’s where our expertise lies. “Our experienced staff is structured into tightly knit teams which take ownership of the projects from start to finish. “Through our extensive network we can provide the on-site expertise to ensure that problems can be solved as soon as they arise.” Tusker's service portfolio ranges from the design and manufacture of specialised packaging requirements to turnkey projects, with lifting and rigging facilities for on-site packaging also available.
