Prestmarine celebrates 20 years

IT WAS a milestone event for insurance brokers Prestmarine who recently celebrated 20 years in business. Starting off as a true family venture, the company was established by At Grobbelaar who retired seven years ago and handed over the reins to Riaan Grobbelaar, (managing director), Herman Grobbelaar and Elbie Jonker (both directors). It’s been a major success story with gross premium turnover increasing phenomenally over the years – from R2m in 1990 to R9m in 1995, R32m in 2000 and a whopping R85m this year. “This represents an average growth of 26% per year,” said Riaan, who believes that customer service is at the core of the company’s success. “Several of our customers have been with us from day one,” he told the 250 guests present, who represented a ‘who’s who’ of the clearing and forwarding industry, small and large.
