A significant majority of airline CFOs and heads of cargo (75%) have expressed a positive outlook for airline business confidence in 2018.
This is according to a survey conducted by the International Air Transport Association (Iata), released yesterday.
Respondents said that the positive outlook was supported by robust demand growth in both the passenger and freight sectors of the industry and as a result of the strength of the economic backdrop and current demand/supply balances.
Iata pointed out that 56% of survey participants expected profitability levels to improve further over the next year. 48% of respondents said that they expected freight yields to remain unchanged in 2018, with 32% projecting an increase in freight yields this year.
