On 04 March 2011 Itac published its final determination of its sunset review of the anti-dumping duties on polyethylene terephthalate originating in or imported from Chinese Taipei, the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and India. The sunset review was initiated on 23 July 2010, following the initial notice that Itac sent to local manufacturers on 26 June 2009 to provide a duly substantiated motivation that the expiry of the anti-dumping duty would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping, and material injury. Following its investigation Itac recommended to the Minister of Trade and Industry that the dumping duties on polyethylene terephthalate originating in or imported from Chinese Taipei, South Korea, and India be maintained. The Minister of Trade and Industry approved Itac’s recommendation for a dumping duty of 75% against Taiwan, 19.7% against South Korea and 19.7% against India.
