Personnel agent changes gear

Publishing
available people rather than
positions

THERE ISN'T always time for business executives to search the websites of personnel agencies to find a suitable replacement for a senior position in their firm. Instead, telling them who is available can solve the problem, says Wendy Pain, managing director of Exclusive Personnel.
Her company is now advertising topline staff who are available. All the interested parties need do is give the reference number shown under the details in their advertisement and the full CV will be dispatched to them.
I find that the people at the top have little time to search for replacements or find the right one to fill a new post. So we are serving them up with details of the person who may well be the answer to their problem, she says.
The identity of the available person naturally remains confidential until the prospective employer wants an interview arranged. But we have found a strong response from people in the industry wanting to be on the move who feel this is the correct new path to go.
It's a switch in policy from positions available to people available.
