THE PORT of Port Elizabeth handled a record 19 328 teus in June this year thanks to additional transhipment cargo rerouted through the port due to congestion in Cape Town.
This figure is 15% more than the previous month and 7% more than June last year. The previous record was handled in August 1996 (18 401).
