The Department of Trade and Industry has extended an invitation to all interested parties to take part in its outward selling mission to Taiwan and Thailand from 28 July to 01 August 2014.
The Department’s invitation is open to producers and exporters in: (i) Agro-processing (fruit juice, canned and processed foods); (ii) Jewellery; and (iii) South African companies in the automotive components sector seeking to attract foreign direct investment.
The visit to Taiwan is scheduled from 28 to 29 July and that to Thailand from 31 July 2014 to 01 August 2014.
The deadline date for the submission of complete Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) Outward Selling Missions application forms is 30 May 2014. The assistance is provided to qualifying South African exporters and investors to introduce South African products into foreign markets in a cost-effective manner. The Department will offer the following financial support to qualifying firms: (i) Economy class return airfare to a maximum of R17 000; (ii) Daily subsistence allowance of R2 300 per day; and (iii) Business-to-business meetings for participants.
