JOY ORLEK CMA CGM has added the newly built CMA CGM Everest to its West Africa Express (WAX) service on the Asia-West Africa trade. Operating six vessels in the 1700/1850 TEU capacity range, the service calls Shanghai, Ningbo, Fuzhou, Chiwan, Port Kelang, Durban, Tema, Lomé, Cotonou, Abidjan, Colombo, Port Kelang, offering a 12 day frequency. The call at Port Kelang, the line’s main South Asia hub, streamlines connections with other CMA CGM services, according to GM in SA, Pam Yerushalmy. “The upgrading of the new direct service is dedicated to the booming Chinese export market to West Africa,” she told FTW.
