CFR Airfreight general
manager Stephen Bishop
has been appointed to the
board of directors of CFR’s
airfreight global network,
the AirCargoGroup. He
takes over the position
from CFR Group CEO,
Peter Schmidt-Löff ler,
who has been on the board
for the past few years.
“We believe in
promoting from within
and want to see our top
performers climb the
ranks within our CFR
Group,” said Schmidt-
Löff ler. “Young blood with
good ideas and energy
is welcome within our
group at any time. With
Stephen’s experience,
knowledge and motivation
it was a no brainer to
motivate his appointment
to the ACG board,” he
said.
The ACG, a neutral
association of airfreight
wholesalers, covers 200
airports and 60 countries
and moves more than 200
million kilograms annually,
with over 300 scheduled
consolidations, according
to Bishop. “The board
comprises members from
Germany, China, Spain,
Taiwan, the US and the UK
which are our historically
strong import hubs into
South Africa,” he said.
