GABRIELE REITER moves into the managing director role at DAL-Transport, the through freight section of DAL Deutsche Afrika-Linien, at the end of this month. She takes over from Jurgen Glissman who is retiring after 47 years in the shipping industry, 38 with DAL. Reiter brings to the position 27 years of shipping experience. Both were visiting South Africa recently to touch base with clients and agents. DAL-Transport has branches in Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg and in addition to transhipment business to and from the main South African ports, provides transport options to inland destinations in other parts of southern Africa. These inland destinations are served by rail and road with a Durban transport company currently contracted.
