LUFTHANSA CARGO has signed a deal with DHL Worldwide Express which will expand capacity on its intra-European overnight express service.
Effective this month, the airline will switch its fastest time-definite airport-to-airport td.Flash product to DHL's freighters, due to be delivered during the course of the year.
Lufthansa currently uses its 'Quick Change' Boeing 737 passenger aircraft to transport the express cargo. These are quickly converted for transportation of freight overnight.
Over and above the increased capacity, the deal will expand Lufthansa's network into new markets not currently served.
