New CEO for SAA

Thuli Mpshe has replaced Nico Bezuidenhout as SAA acting CEO. Bezuidenhout will reset his focus on Mango Airlines, SAA spokesperson Tlali Tlali has confirmed.
Thuli previously held the title of SAA GM of human resources.

This announcement follows Tlali’s earlier dismissal of media reports claiming the acting CEO would vacate his position, which Tlali argued was nothing more than “baseless rumours” and “unsubstantiated gossip.”

But on Friday he told eTNW: “A decision has been taken to have Nico Bezuidenhout return to Mango where he will continue to serve as its CEO. We always understood his deployment at SAA was in an acting capacity.” The process to have a permanent CE will soon commence, Tlali added.

“Bezuidenhout led the implementation of the 90-Day Action Plan which was part of our long-term turnaround strategy. This decision was purely based on internal operational requirements within the entire SAA Group,” said Tlali.
