A consortium formed by French companies - CMA CGM and Bolloré – along with the Chinese CHEC (China Harbour Engineering Company), has been awarded the Kribi Container Terminal concession in Cameroon for a period of 25 years.
According to CMA CGM, vessels of up to 8 000 TEU capacity will be able to call at this 1.4 million-TEU capacity container terminal.
Once completed, the terminal will include a 700-metre-long wharf and a 32-hectare platform made for a 16-metre draught. The first section - 350 metres – of the wharf is reportedly set to open “within a few weeks”.
