Namport given thumbs up by rating agency

It will be easier and less costly for the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) to raise funds for its ambitious expansion plans, which include the building of a dedicated port to serve its neighbouring SADC countries.

Fitch Ratings has upgraded Namibian Ports Authority's (NamPort) National Long-Term rating to 'AA-(zaf)' from 'A+(zaf)' and National Short- Term rating to 'F1+(zaf)' from 'F1(zaf)'.

The outlook is stable, and reflects the Fitch rating for Namibia as a country.
