LAST YEAR'S list of the top 30 IATA export agents omitted several of the big names whom IATA claimed had not submitted their figures before the March 1 deadline.
Several, including Fritz Companies, Expeditors and more recently MSAS Cargo International, have disputed this.
MSAS recorded sales of R9 338 899 in 1999, figures which were submitted before the due date, says export manager Ronald Colman, and a total which would have placed them in position 24 in the rankings.
It's a drop from the previous year, attributable says Colman to a decline in agricultural business and a quiet year for exhibitions. Several shippers also moved from air to seafreight, a trend which impacted negatively on the company's airfreight statistics.
The focus for the year ahead is on developing the SA
route through the MSAS global network and setting up
infrastructures within Africa, he added.
