The World Customs Organisation (WCO) announced on 11 October 2012 that the Republic of Mozambique had deposited its instrument of accession to the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (Harmonised System) with the Secretary General of the WCO, becoming the 145th Contracting Party to the Harmonised System Convention. The Harmonized System Convention will enter into force in Mozambique on 01 January 2014. Mozambique has been a Member of the WCO since 01 July 1987.
