More staff deployed at key border post this festive season

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) has deployed additional staff at the Beitbridge border post to meet additional clearing demands during the festive season.

The border post is one of the busiest ports of entry in southern Africa with around 20 000 trucks passing through it every month, according to Zimra  director of corporate and legal affairs Florence Jambwa.

She was quoted by the state-owned newspaper, The Herald, as saying: "As you may appreciate, this time of the year is our peak period in terms of movement of commercial goods as importers and exporters prepare for the festive season and the usual annual shutdown.”
