QUESTIONS HAVE been
raised about the quality
of imported long-life
milk following a recent
investigation by the Milk
Producers’ Organisation
(MPO).
MPO MD Etienne
Terre’Blanche said that
according to information
on the labels of some of
the imports, the milk did
not meet South African
requirements.
“The butterfat and
protein percentages are
lower than our legal
requirements,” Terre’Blanche
said, urging consumers to
buy locally-manufactured
products.
