MBABANE – FTW has learned of the death of a key figure in Swaziland’s road transport industry, Kevin DuPont, 36, managing director of Chrisilda Transport. DuPont died in a car accident during one of the heavy storms that hit Swaziland last week. He was laid to rest on Saturday. A company source said that the founders of Chrisilda Transport, Kevin’s parents Chris and Hilda DuPont, will decide who will run the firm. In recent years, Kevin was expanding the company fleet and its headquarters at the Matsapha Industrial Estate, with plans of inaugurating new routes into South Africa. He strongly promoted AIDS awareness, detection and mitigation among Chrisilda Transport’s 65 employees. “It’s about being a good businessman, and looking after your assets. Your employees are your most valuable assets,” DuPont told FTW during an interview last year.
