Management buys out Durban computer company

THERE'S BEEN a management buyout of all Microsoft technologies from the computer solutions company Atio Corporation in KwaZulu Natal.
In Cape Town half the company has also moved across to the new grouping.

follows weeks of speculation in the business press and according to sources the split arose from the intentions of Atio to remain technology independent within a burgeoning industry. However, management of the Durban offices especially, and to an extent also those in Cape Town, remains convinced that the future of the industry lies with Microsoft, and the split became inevitable.
As a result the management buyout took place last week with almost an entire transfer of personnel in the Westville, KZN offices moving across to the new company, Seattle Solutions. In Cape Town the split is fifty - fifty.
Seattle Solutions is now the only Microsoft support group in KwaZulu Natal and sole supplier of Microsoft technology skills. The new company will be headed up by Matthew Blewett as managing director, with Bruce Krebs the sales director and Ronnie van Rooyen import / export director.
Atio Corporation will continue to maintain a small presence in the province.
