Eskom has announced that the construction of its Majuba railway line will be completed at the end of 2017.

The 68km long rail line will link Eskom’s Majuba power plant in Volksrust, Mpumalanga, to the main coal line.

The line is part Eskom’s initiative to change the transportation of coal to a number of power stations from road trucks to rail transportation.
