Last week saw the launch by Ethiopian Airlines of a direct freighter service from Bahir Dar to Liege in Belgium.
According to Ethiopian Airlines CEO, Tewolde GebreMariam, the service will cater largely for flowers and horticultural products.
The freighter flight will carry 45 tons of flowers on its route.
A statement noted that the airline intended to launch similar services from other flower producing regional states via its global network.
