Lufthansa reduces fuel surcharge

WITH FUEL costs down in recent weeks Lufthansa Cargo has reduced the fuel surcharge which it introduced on November 1 last year. The cargo carrier cut surcharges on its entire global network on February 1 from the previous 15 US cents/kg to 10 cents/kg.
Should the fuel index rise above 130 points in two consecutive weeks the airline will impose a surcharge of 10 cents/kg on actual freight weight, and a surcharge of 15 cents/kg if the fuel price rises above 170 points on the fuel index.
The surcharge will be reduced again to 10 cents/kg if the index falls below 150 points for two consecutive weeks. Once it falls below 110 points for two weeks running the airline will withdraw the surcharge completely.
