United Parcel Service (UPS) has announced plans to build a new package sorting and delivery facility in the two French municipalities of Corbeil-Essonnes and Evry

According to a company statement, the more than $100 million facility, due to open in the first quarter of 2018, will replace two smaller facilities. The site will be a showcase for UPS’s automated package sorting technology which minimizes time in transit to final delivery.

A local spokesperson for UPS South Africa told FTW Online that this record investment will benefit the global UPS network, including Africa, and will improve cross-border services enabling faster delivery to European countries.
