WORK HAS begun on the creation of a dual lane access road at the Lebombo border between South Africa and Mozambique for incoming and outgoing traffic on the South African side. The refusal of informal traders to move their stalls from this area to newly built facilities at the Nkomazi Border Plaza has held back the development. The traders were however removed last Tuesday (September 7) after being served with an eviction notice by the Sheriff. The road is scheduled for completion by March 2005. Extreme caution should be exercised by road hauliers while construction is in progress.
