IT IS an open secret that Transnet will privatise some operations, but with the ports, concessioning will be the way we go.
We have a unit within Transnet at board level with a director responsible for concessioning.
My focus at this stage will be on running the business and ensuring profitability rather than looking at how concessioning will work.
There are models all over the world - either concessioning 100% for 20 to 30 years or concessioning a stake of 51% and keeping the rest for yourself. It will be done along those lines.
