RAY SMUTS RONNIE KINGWILL, MD of Capespan subsidiary Fresh Produce Terminals, who was suspended from duty for ‘alleged regularities’ more than four months ago, is back at the helm despite being found guilty by an arbitrator. Neither Kingwill nor Dr Dawie Ferreira, chairman of the FPT board, were prepared to comment on the outcome. In a brief advisory to FPT customers dated July 5, Ferreira said: “As you are aware the FPT board suspended Mr Kingwill from office for alleged irregularities and the issue was put to binding arbitration as agreed between the parties. “The arbitration process has been completed and the arbitrator found Mr Kingwill guilty of the said irregularities and ordered appropriate sanctions. The arbitrator has nevertheless also ruled that Mr Kingwill’s suspension be lifted. “Mr Kingwill has resumed his duties as managing director of FPT with effect 1 July, 2004. We trust that we can look forward to your continued support of FPT as your service provider of choice.”
